Aces Bedroom Review

When I think of twink, the guy on Ace's Bedroom doesn't immediately spring to mind, but this is what he calls himself, and he's only 18-years-old, so I guess I'll go with it. His hair is close-cropped, almost shaved, he sports tattoos, and strikes me as a skater punk more than anything else and he's comfortable being a top or a bottom.

Someone took some thought into creating the members' area, and I appreciated the colourful design and easy-to-follow menu. The news section is basically just a list of updates, but Ace does include his opinion about guys he met or, at the very least, describes how he met the other guys who appear in his bedroom. New content is added weekly, although usually there's a video blog added between the updates.

Rather than a written blog, Ace has chosen to give us a more intimate taste of who he is and what he does in his day-to-day life. In his newest blog, he sits in front of the camera nude, softly playing with is cock while talking about what he loves about tatts and piercings. Blogs seem to be around three to five minutes, but it doesn't look like they're downloadable.

Right now, there are only 15 episodes and they come with a series of video captures. In his blog, Ace talks about how he likes shooting photos, so it's a wonder why there isn't a good photo gallery. We're left to browse between 90 and 110 grabs from the movies. Just like most caps, these 720x480 images have a dull, greyish tone and while half decent when Ace isn't moving, they're blurry in all hardcore sequences. However, at least Ace has managed to only include the best of the batch instead of making us suffer through 300 or so stills. There's a slideshow for these images, but personally I'd prefer photos different from the movies and certainly better quality.

Movies last between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on whether or not another guy has been invited into AcesBedroom. There's a combination of masturbation, toy-play and couples fucking, which is fairly standard. Windows Media Videos are offered in dial-up, DSL and broadband qualities, with the best being 1250Kbps and 720x480 pixels. As the title states, all the action happens in the bedroom, although sometimes in the living room. There's very little variety when it comes to the locations or even when it comes to the hardcore. I'd love to see Ace live out some of his fantasies. Surely he has some sort of fetish or some role-play fantasy that he could get into for us just to change things up a bit. Scenes are slow-paced with plenty of kissing and foreplay for those that enjoy sweet and sensual sex. The guys don't do a lot of moaning or dirty talk, so watching love-making scenes is sort of like watching real life sex between semi-experienced players. Ace always goes for guys that seem to be around his own age.

Final Verdict

AcesBedroom isn't particularly loaded, even if the twink-type host has a cock that is ready to explode. At the moment, I think the site is way too expensive for a mere 10 movies with video captures and no interaction with the model, especially considering there aren't bonuses to hold your attention while the site grows. The other problem is that there aren't movie downloads, which doesn't make it very competitive with the hundreds of other gay sites that let you save movies to your hard drive. For those who enjoy tender amateur sex, the hardcore will suit your tastes and at least the quality of the streams are good, but personally, there are more exciting and better bargain sites than Ace's Bedroom.
